MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING

MRI of the extremities

Precise MRI diagnostics of the knee, ankle, foot, hand, and wrist using the modern Esaote O-scan SMART system.

O-SCAN SMART

Modern MRI diagnostics of the extremities

At Adria Medical we use the Esaote O-scan SMART, a specialized MRI system designed for detailed diagnostics of joints and extremity structures.

A specialized MRI system

Designed for examining joints and extremity structures, with detailed imaging of soft tissue and bone structures.

A more comfortable scan

For extremity scans, the whole body does not need to be inside the MRI tunnel.

No ionizing radiation

MRI uses a magnetic field and radio waves and does not use ionizing radiation.

AREAS WE EXAMINE

Which areas do we examine?

Knee

Examination of the menisci, ligaments, cartilage, tendons, and bone structures of the knee.

Ankle and foot

Examination of the ligaments, tendons, cartilage, and bone structures of the ankle and foot.

Hand and wrist

Examination of the bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, and soft tissue of the hand and wrist.

WHEN IS AN MRI NEEDED?

When is MRI useful?

An MRI scan can be useful when there is a need to assess, in more detail, the cause of pain, the consequences of an injury, or changes in the structures of a joint or extremity.

Persistent or recurring pain

Injury during sports or everyday activities

Suspected ligament or meniscus injury

Pain or changes in the tendons

Suspected cartilage damage

Swelling or limited joint mobility

WHAT CAN MRI SHOW?

A detailed view of joint and extremity structures

Depending on the area being examined, MRI allows a detailed assessment of soft tissue, cartilage, ligaments, tendons, joints, and bone structures.

Ligaments and menisci

Assessment of the integrity and possible damage to ligaments and menisci.

Tendons

Assessment of changes related to injury, overuse, and degenerative processes.

Cartilage

Assessment of the structure and possible damage to joint cartilage.

Bone and bone marrow

Assessment of changes in bone and bone marrow that are not always clearly visible on an X-ray.

Joint and surrounding structures

A detailed assessment of the anatomy and pathological changes in the joint area.
